Wow! That title sounds like a pity party for me. But it's my reality. After sitting on the couch for 16 months due to Covid, my community pool closed and a torn meniscus, I discovered last week I could barely walk the mall I hadn't seen in almost 2 years.
So, here I am, 74 yrs young, WW Lifer, former Sparkpeople devotee, 5'2" and currently 170 lbs, having lost 10 lbs after my husband died 7 months ago. I try to be low carb, am semi-keto and do daily intermittent fasting. Im also a Type 2 Diabetic with really good numbers (A1C 6.1).
Any other over 60's women out there who have similar issues who would like to share their stories?

Welcome to MFP!
I’m 61 and a former Spark People member too. Very sad that they’re going away.
Anyhow, there’s lots of us here.
Here’s a group you might wish to join.

I’m not a widow. But my husband had some massive personality changes a bit over ten years ago, caused by strokes and vascular dementia. So life is definitely not what I had pictured it would be like at this age.
Exercise with a disability is tricky.
We have a NuStep, and it’s keeping my husband and myself in shape. Got it about a year ago at the beginning of the pandemic.
There are other options for low impact exercise besides the NuStep. But in my opinion none are better for someone with a disability.
My opinion….
Of course, it’s as boring as a treadmill. So if you’re used to exercise as a social activity maybe check with your area gyms?
There’s a program called Silver Sneakers that is pretty good. Hold on I’ll Google a link for you.1 -
Here’s the Silver Sneakers website.
It’s covered by Medicare, so that might help.0 -
