NSV - At the donut store!!

So I was out for lunch today, I sat on a bench and had my super healthy goats cheese, spinach and avacado salad.
Afterwards I was really craving something sweet...so I thought 'to hell with it' made a detour to the donut store on the back to work. On the way there I had a little day dream about an upcoming vacation to Hawaii that I have planned for next month, and in my minds eye I could see myself in a bikini...I got to the store and turned right around again...and I think I felt so much better for doing that than I would have for indulging and screwing my calorie count up for the day!!

Great Job!! This happens to me with the free cookie from Subway when you order via app. I have finally been able to decline it, instead of adding the 200+ calories to my day! Feels really good to make healthy, conscious decisions!0

Today was my kids' first day of school and after I ran, I decided I was going to treat myself. I happened to be at Target and decided I wanted some chocolate. I picked up and put down about 6 different candy bars- I just couldn't do it. I ended up going home and having a bowl of oatmeal with a tablespoon of mini chocolate chips and peanut butter for lunch.
That said, I'm not sure I could have passed up a donut. A maple bar sounds really good right now...0 -
Woohoo! I'm lucky I guess in that I don't have a love for sweets, but there are just a few things that are hard to resist. I did a really long run the other day (13 miles in the morning) but ate great/clean all day. I even made it through a staff outing at a baseball game with tons of free food and beer. I frequented the veggie section, ate chicken instead of hotdogs, and let myself have one beer and one cookie. ONE! I could have had about six. haha. Gotta love NSVs!
