Hi everyone I have started my weight loss journey but need help. I have severe OAS (oral allergy syndrome) which means I can't eat any raw fruits or vegetables they all need to be completely cooked through if I eat them.
I'm also allergic to peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, gluten and soy
Any meal/snack ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, your needs are very specific.
Is it possible for you to get an appointment with a nutritionist?2 -
Looking into a nutritionist in my province would be a good idea, I will definitely do that I was just curious if anyone had snack or food recommendations till then.1

Eat whatever is safe for you. If you're worried about nutrients, consider getting bloodwork done to check for deficiencies - I'll also +1 the suggestion to see a professional, but consider a registered dietitian (RD) instead of a nutritionist. RD is a protected title, you need a license to call yourself that, so it's less of a gamble that maybe you'll get someone who barely passed high school biology and hasn't so much as listened to a science podcast since then in terms of educational background.4

Blood work is another great suggestion thank you! I'm new to all this and know I have 80 pounds to lose and with all the information out there I don't even know where to start so some blood work and a good RD would be a good start for me.1

My understanding of OAS is that canned fruit is ok, yes?
One of my favorite snacks is 4 oz of cottage cheese and a 4 oz cup of tropical fruit in juice. My mother will be horrified to learn I don't always eat fresh fruit, but it is convenient, pre-portioned, and shelf-stable. I find the combo of protein and bulk very filling, and for only 138 calories.
I also like hard boiled eggs for snacks.
If you want something nut-like, what about sunflower seeds?
It's very easy to avoid gluten and soy if you are cooking from scratch.
For dinner, any plain raw meat should be safe, yes? As long as you use individual spices you can easily avoid soy and gluten. Any cooked vegetable. For starches, off the top of my head, rice and potatoes are GF.
Apparently coconut isn't technically a tree nut. Is it safe for you? If so, and you want something soy-like, try coconut aminos:

If you do a random search online some good stuff will come up. I have dairy, chicken, egg, wheat, and nut allergies along with some food intolerances and found some good recipes. Some work with just a few substitutions.
Try looking up quinoa bites.
My kid makes them and people love them. All the ingredients are safe for your allergies. Quinoa, eggs, seasonings, cheese, and cooked broccoli. Sometimes she makes a pizza style one with tiny pepperonis.0 -
Also, yogurt with gluten free toasted oats and a bit of sweetener (if you do sweetener).0

I have many allergies too, @shandiapc. In fact, I have OAS too. It took me a long time to figure out what specifically I could eat. Working with an allergist to determine what specific plants I was allergic to and the specific cross-reactions to foods to expect was most helpful, and an RD familiar with the various families of plants that foods were in helped me too, by doing gradual challenges under supervision. Now I use a combination of medications to keep my allergies under control, as well having done an elimination diet to help with the foods.
For now, try writing down ALL of the foods that you know ARE SAFE for you. Build your meal plan from there.
Nobody here is going to be able to give you specific ideas for snacks because it’s a little too complicated to answer on an Internet forum.0
