Quitting Optavia and don't want to backslide - any advice?

I was on the Optavia program for three months. I took a few breaks because it was not something I wanted to strictly follow on vacation or when scuba diving and burning a lot of calories. I lost over 20 lbs in that period, but had some issues I just can't handle long term. It is super low calorie (800-1000) and the food caused me a lot of stomach issues. I also really want to return to my pre-Covid weight and gym routine and don't feel well doing that on this program. I'm moving back to clean eating and am concerned that my metabolism may have taken a hit. I've set up a higher protein plan on My Fitness Pal. Any suggestions? I would hate to start gaining a lot of weight on 1200-1500 calories a day.
