Using MFP long term

That's the date my current streak on Myfitnesspal began. That's 2740 days (so far) of logging everything I ate.
I got into the habit of logging my foods while doing WW, and I had some success on the program, losing 50+ pounds before a medication change (long term high dose steroids are no fun!) packed all of the weight I had lost back onto my body and then some. It was depressing watching my scale inch up, but the one thing I insisted on was absolute honesty in writing down what I ate (an entire box of Girl Scout Thin Mints comes to mind).
I finally got serious about weight loss, and in December of 2019 I had the gastric sleeve operation. In the two years since I had my operation, I have watched my BMI drop from over 40 to 24.7. That is the first time since I was in high school that I have not been considered overweight by my BMI.
I can't imagine not logging my meals on MFP. The daily practice of "if you bite it, write it" means that I keep myself honest, and has made controlling my weight something that is achievable, not a pipe dream.
There have been a lot of ups and downs on this journey. Ups and downs in life, and ups and downs on the scale. But MFP has been the one constant. Thank you to the MFP team for being a valuable part of my healthy lifestyle!
