Accountabillabuddies!!

Hi, I am new to MFP but I am definitely a Serial Starter but I think I have found my own personal recipe for success. While my ultimate goal is to lose about 50-60lbs, I am making a conscious effort to emphasize performance goals. I'll still focus on getting my diet correct makeup for my needs but I am more interested now in how many modified push-ups can I do each week or how long can I run before needing to walk/how long a recovery time I need.

My journey has been similar. I’m starting once again but I’m going to trying focus on things other than weight. Of course, weight loss is important as I have 100-ish pounds to lose but I’m trying to create a lifestyle not just drop weight quickly, feel deprived, and give up.

My markers are more emotional than numbers driven. How much less my back hurts this week than last, has my sleeping improved, how’s my depression level. Those kind of things.

Feel free to add me as a friend.

This is it exactly. For me the weight will come off with the lifestyle changes I am implementing, but weight loss is not perfectly linear and it doesn't help me to change things and (in theory) see no improvement. Even weight loss by inches takes time.

I like the emotional measure as well, its just the lure of a tactical gain driving me. Even if its just seeing my calendar get filled up with the gold stars I bought for this purpose! :)

Welcome! The lifestyle is what I'm going for as well. I want to drop the weight of course but I want to actually transform my body and make it harder to put the weight back on because of a healthier lifestyle. Feel free to add me if you'd like!

I love the term "accountabillabuddies" I have joined a gym and signed up with a personal training program through my insurance company that allows me to have a discounted membership to the program, but only if you stick with it, attend the sessions, make healthy diet decisions and drop weight. While this sounds strict, for me it is the perfect 'accountability' measure to keep me going! Plus my family is doing this journey with me and we are all going to benefit from our lifestyle change! Finding the routine that works for you and keeping it up is so important, just keep doing!
