Nutrients and energy levels

Eating right to gain nutrients has changed my energy levels. Love the way the App extract nutrients from food.

Also started developing awareness of potassium levels. Implemented regular supplement to up my potassium levels.

Not sure if there is scientific link but can say that my afternoon tiredness have disappeared.

I don't know the science either, but that's great that you've figured out how to boost your energy. I've discovered that adding more Magnesium really helps me recover from my workouts. I'm sleeping a lot better now that I'm not as sore. I'll have to pay attention to the potassium now that you've mentioned it.

    Cool you are feeling better!

By the way, regarding potassium, I'm not so sure that "most people get enough potassium." I've done some digging on my own diet and honestly, I get about half the amount needed - and I'm not just going by MFP numbers here. I know that a lot of articles about potassium say most people get enough. I've fixed leg cramps and such by supplementing with a little No-Salt when needed.

Agreed about checking labels though! They can also be inaccurate however are a lot better than nothing.

Everything I have read suggests Americans at least are woefully deficient in potassium, and it is important! But I agree with callsitlikeise...that you should check with a dr. before taking potassium supplements. They can be problematic, and it's generally better to eat veggies that are high in potassium; this time of year, zucchini and mushrooms are my potassium stars, but leafy greens and other veggies are full of it too. Potassium is one good reason for getting your 5 a day of fruits and veggies.
