Calculating odd exercise calories

So I started a new (temporary) job today, power washing and staining miles of fence around a private housing community. We did a little more than a half-mile today. We had to walk back and forth to and move the vehicle for every 200 feet or less, walk through high brush and grass on uneven terrain (which was sometimes not hard and sometimes climbing over culverts, etc, walk up and down embankments to the road, wrangle 100 feet of pressure washer hose and at times also 100 feet of garden hose.

A lot of it was also just slowly walking up and down the fence line, though, while spraying the wand, which is lightly active, but nothing strenuous.

All of this is more that my usual activity level, unquestionably, so I would like to count some of it as exercise. However, I have no idea what to call it or at what rate to calculate it. We worked for 8 1/2 hours today. I mean, I could just call it a couple of hours of slow walking to get some credit for it but not overestimate it? Or....?

Oh, sure! Just give me the easy answer! lol

That certainly does seem like a simpler approach. I'm definitely open to suggestions from others, but if I can solve my "huge problem" just like this - I will just move forward and be happy with it.

    Thank you!
