Trying to lose 10lbs

I am 65 years old and working to take off 10 pounds. This is work for me. I have to be very vigilant about calories as I do a lot of mindless eating. My fitness pal has been enormously helpful in counting calories. I realize this time consuming endeavor and a daily activity. Be aware of every calorie is work. Anyway I am so glad that I have this forum to help me with this.

Wow, 10 pounds to goal is "goal in sight" kind of territory: You can do this!

I understand what you're saying: When used to being very free-form, maybe mindless, it does take a little time to approach eating differently at first. My experience is that with a little learning under my belt (and the belt gradually getting cinched up to tighter notches besides!), it gets easier and more automatic, as the new habits start to fall into place.

I'm glad you're finding the app helpful so far: Wishing you continued progress.

P.S. I'm 65 myself, in maintenance now after losing 50+ pounds calorie counting a few years back. Pretty sure counting can really, really work! 😉
