Intermittent fasting when sick?

I’ve been intermittent fasting for the last three weeks, a pretty chill 14-hr daily fast from 6pm to 8am. I have not been counting or restricting calories within the eating period, but it’s gotten relatively easy. I lost ~5lbs in the beginning & have been maintaining this week. I’m less hungry in the mornings now than I used to be when eating just before bed.

I’m coming down with something, pain & fever, and I’m wondering if it’s better to just eat whenever, or if changing my routine suddenly is going to be a worse shock to my system than just continuing to fast.

Does anyone have experience with this?

Thank youu~

If body is sick don't eat in a deficit. Not the time to deprive it of nutrients and extra energy when it's expending more.

However you eat more, just do it.
May be able to do it within your desired window.
May desire to add a snack outside the window.

Very unlikely to cause a "shock" to your system. But more food in your gut, and retained water for immune system, may shock you if you get on the scale - if you can't handle that don't do it.

Haha. I usually get a stomach ache for a day or two when I change my eating pattern. But I guess we’ll see how it works out.

Don't get sick much, especially the last decade or so, kinda rarely but when I've had a fever I don't eat much, just drink lots of fluids, and I'm pretty quick with recovery, so not sure if eating more would make much difference. Didn't eat because I didn't feel like it.
