I have been having a very strong craving for broccoli sunflower salad lately (recipe for reference: https://belleofthekitchen.com/skinny-broccoli-salad/)

Just curious if anyone has any suggestions on different ways to prep it? I'm trying to keep it low calorie, but I'm also not super worried as it lower than some other alternatives I could be eating.

How do you make yours?

I've made a version of this from a NYT recipe containing broccoli only that is now behind a paywal. It has been popular at parties and potlucks.

It seems pretty reasonable calorie-wise already, but I think I'd probably leave out the sugar. I'm not anti-sugar, but I just don't see how it could add anything to the dish. I'm not a big fan of sweet in my savoury dishes.

If anyone tells you to leave out the bacon...just show them the door.

I will substitute cottage cheese and/or yogurt in place of some of the mayo - helps a bit with calories and protein without throwing off the taste too much. But I do still throw some good old mayo in there...pick your battles

I make mine almost exactly as written in that recipe except that I add diced apples to the mix.
