Strength training vs cardio

I've never liked cardio (or exercise for that matter), aside from 10-20 mins warm up before I do weights (which I do for a month then give up for a few months).. Now I'm trying to get nice and toned but am finding that my abs have got a bit large, which is pushing my belly fat out a lot. My stomach was flatter a week ago! Anyone have any experience with this? Do I stick to what I'm doing or increase cardio? I don't want to go so nuts on cardio that my butt and thighs shrink..... Btw I'm 30 years old, mother of 3 and 58 kgs.
