Hi everyone!

I recently became a mother for the second time. I gave birth to a son, Will in May. My husband and I also have a 5 year old, Jack. Sadly, I not only have not lost the weight that I gained during Jacks pregnancy but I managed to add 20 more in the past few years. Luckily I didn't gain more than 10 pounds with Will so I'm not quite as bad off as I could be. I've been meaning to start dieting since I was 8 weeks postpartum but kept putting it off. Well, we took the boys to the splash park on Sunday and my husband took a picture of me with the boys. Sweet baby Jesus, I was horrified. I knew I was big but in my head I always thought that I carried my weight well and still looked good. Uh, no. I look huge. It's time to lose this weight once and for all! I have a little over 150 pounds to lose to get me to what would be my ultimate goal of 145 pounds. However, if I can just get back to 180, the weight that I met my husband at, I'll be thrilled! It's going to be a long journey. Right now I'm focused on looking good next summer so I can take the boys to the water park and actually wear a swimsuit.

Welcome & congrats on your little one! I hate looking at pictures of myself and think, OMG I am so fat, but you know that is exactly what gave me that push to get back to losing weight (again) so here I am :) I joined in May and have lost 20lbs so far, my next weigh in is tomorrow and hoping for a decent loss. I started with 150lbs to lose to get to my goal weight of 180, but that may change once I get close. I am 5'11", so not really sure what I"ll look like at that weight, as I can't recall ever being that small!

I am a sahm to 3 girls (13, 8 & 3) and stay pretty busy, but log daily, good or bad, and try to check in with friends as much as I can. Feel free to add me if you'd like. :) Good luck on your journey!
  • Welcome and congrats on your little bundle of joy! I have a large amount of weight to lose as well. I know exactly what you mean about looking at pictures of yourself and being horrified. I knew I was overweight but, seeing it in a picture was a big reality check. Feel free to friend me! I log daily and always am looking for motivation and support with friends who are in the same place as I am.
