Calorie Deficit

Hi. I'm aware that to lose fat you need to have a calorie deficit, however I was wondering if this is to be below daily calorie allowance ie 1200, or as it can increase if you exercise, is it to be under that figure?

I tend to stick to my allowance and don't usually exercise so that I can eat more - unless I'm going out for a meal or drinks and I would prepare for this in advance by doing more exercise and/or having a lower calorie lunch/snacks. There have been occasions where I have gone over my daily allowance - we are human afterall - and I can still have extra left just from doing exercise.

I've also read posts where people have been advised to increase their calories if doing high intensity workouts - ie Insanity. So basically which is it - below daily allowance, or allowance gained after exercise?

You need to eat your daily allowance (which has a deficit built in). You then also eat your exercise calories, unless you are "saving" them (e.g. for a weekend) but try not to save more than a couple of hundred extra or you will be unhappy and hungry!
