Well I did not stick with it at 62, going to get rid of this weight before I retire.

My retirement date is Sept 2023. Since I was 62 my life turned upside down with my son's divorce and other life happenings. I also started a new job that is very rewarding but stressful. I hope to have my 50-60 pounds gone before I retire. I love the outdoors and having a great time with my grandkids.

Set your weight loss to .5lbs/week and you should be able to hit that goal in 2.3 years. That gives you an extra 8 months or so of margin: holidays, slower weight loss towards the end etc. You could set it to a pound a week at first if you want, but no need to reduce calories that much to hit your goal!
