Are you saying that your snack averages 7,000 calories? Perhaps there's more to what you're doing. Because it takes an approximate calorie deficit of 3500 calories to lose a pound of fat.
A pound a day is way too aggressive and could have really bad implications for health. If you are trying to lose 30 pounds, you should aim for perhaps three quarters of a pound per WEEK, not per day. Even that is kind of aggressive. When you get down to your last 20 pounds, a half pound a week is a reasonable rate.
Take a look at "A guide to get you started on your path to sexypants" for some general good ideas.10 -
Please continue to report back.
I'm more curious that if the snack caused those effects - how large must the meal be!?
So many people that take on these extreme methods fail to report back - never seen in here again.
Don't know if method caused death or serious illness so the diet stopped.
Don't know if they totally failed to get close to goal weight so too embarrassed to report back.
But please keep up the reporting.
Not the diet, totally unethical to recommend that, but some are just hard-set on doing something.
So at least keep reporting.
Too bad you can't track muscle mass - that'll be the interesting thing.
Got a means of testing your current muscle strength, perhaps max pushups now and at the end, or squats?
Just have to carry the 30 extra lbs to see if any changes.8 -

Ok mate, there's something going on. And I'm not taking about fatloss as it's impossible to lose 17lbs of bodyfat in a week. That would mean a daily calorie deficit of 8500 calories. How many calories to maintain your weight does MFP give you? Around 3500? if so then in order to lose this weight you'd need to eat nothing at all, and exercise for about 5000 calories per day. That's more than running a marathon. Either your body has for some reason been storing a lot of fluid, and then it would be worth going to a doctor if this continues, or your scale is broken.10

Why are you posting your (questionable) weight loss in the Maintaining Weight forum? What did I miss?
So you've lost 17 pounds in 18 days? I'd slow that down, mate.5 -
@jimmsessions8 I hope you are doing well with your weight loss?0

24 pounds in 17 days. It all sounds fishy to me, but what do I know? I'm just a natural skeptic.0 -
13 more pounds was needed to be lost to hit goal weight.
2 more weeks about to hit goal time.
Considering there were no more updates to get to the 30 day goal time - this effort has turned in to every other thread I've seen that attempts to do extreme.
No more updates at some point because either or both goals failed.
It's been a whole month now since last update - at prior rates being seen, 13 lbs in 4 weeks should have been easy to accomplish.
My bet is the major backfire to such an extreme attempt occurred.3 -
He was last active on MFP October 28th. I'd agree (unfortunately) that something happened. Hope the OP is OK. Please, please, lurkers, this happens often when we get someone all gungho on a VLCD. They feel GREAT---until they don't......3
