Just popping in to add some support to you all.
I'm a single mother and have pretty much ought up my son on my own (he is now the most amazingly cool 14 year old - who is away on a sleepover hence being so sentimental about him - I'm sure if he was here I'd be nagging him about his room or similar!).
Just after my 44th birthday it hate me that at the weight I was (308lbs) I was unlikely to be around to see him through Uni and even though kids that age think they're so independent, they still need their parents (if possible).
So I totally understand the purpose of this thread and good luck to you all
