Sleep vs. Exercise?

I recently heard through some health radio podcasts that sleep is just as important to losing weight as exercise. What happens, though, when you only have enough for one? Do you chose sleep, or exercise? Yesterday I chose to exercise and ended up working until 2am, then getting up early at 6am again to work more. But otherwise ... it feels like a downward spiral of just eating, sitting, and not moving.

What do you guys chose? Anything that works better as an alternative?

If exercise is taking a serious cut into sleep, I'd go with less exercise and more sleep. You don't need to do hours of exercise, and sleep helps everything.

If you only have time for one I would sleep. But try to workout not right before bed if you can because that keeps you awake because you have extra energy then. Try to just add exercise into your day like going up the stairs (I did clinicals at the hospital on the fourth floor and would always at least most of the time use the stairs). And other stuff you can add too like take a walk during your lunch break stuff like that. Don;t know if it is really down to only time for one but if it is I would pick sleep!
