Cheat Day

I’ve lost 4.4 lbs my first week since I started my weight loss goal again, today is my cheat day I am not going to over indulge but I am getting g pizza tonight with my family.

What do you guys indulge on for your cheat days?

mmm it is your journey.. and you have to make your diet plan something you can live with and execute.

personally for me; I have cheat meals with parameters. If I had a cheat "day". I think I'd regain all the weight I lost during the week. But, I found if I went out to dinner on one or two weekend nights.. had a cocktail and wine with dinner that was always sensible like a filet and baked potato and salad.. or a lobster tail.. shrimp cocktail. I kept losing weight and it gave me something to look forward to and kept me in for the long haul.

but a day would be too much of a slippery slope for me. See how it goes is all you can do.

I don't have cheat days or cheat meals. I'll still eat pizza or cheesecake now and then, but I don't schedule a day for it. I just have it and then don't have food like that again until it really feels like it's been awhile.

I put a lot more focus into what I am eating than what I'm not eating. Basically, I try to cram as much vegetables as possible into as many meals as possible.

I don't know if that's helpful, but it's how I lost from obese to lean healthy weight and have maintained easily for 6 years.

Cheating, to me, implies doing something bad/wrong. I just eat and log everything I eat and drink and work it into my calories for the day. Do I go over? Of course I do at times. The big difference now is not letting it continue. Back at it the next meal/snack. You can share a meal of pizza with your family without cheating, just plan for it. We have pizza once a week.

I guess I don't like the term "cheat" either. It gives the idea that you're doing something wrong, or trying to fool your diet.

We have pizza at least once a week. If it's a super thin crust, and I order veggies with no cheese, then I'll eat the entire thing--my favorite is: a Marinara with cooked chickory and 4 thin slices of a spicy salami.
If my pizza has cheese, a thick crust, or I'm sharing with my husband, I'll order a large salad and eat a third of his.
    We then split desert.

I log it all. I'm always up weight wise the next day, but it's water weight and goes away in a couple of days. If you're cutting your calories very low and banking them for the weekend, then this is all legit. Look at your weekly calorie goal instead of daily. I'd suggest you log as best you can just the same. This is something that you need to stick to, so do what works. Best of luck.
