Any other Death Care Workers out here?!

Might be a strange question but I am always looking to connect with others who have similar interests.

How do you know if you're cut out for that line of work?

I, personally, couldn't do it as a profession. :( I helped my sister with her dh for the last 6-8 months of his life and watching him deteriorate left me with a lot of emotional issues. I'm not one to handle death well to begin with but to watch a person become practically skeletal did a number on me. :(
I admire and have the utmost respect for anyone who does that because in all the professions 'out there', I feel it's one of *the* hardest but gives so much to the person and their family.

I recommend calling up some funeral homes and/or medical examiners and ask to volunteer. Unfortunately with such a niche thing the only way to truly know if you are cut out for it, is to see it up close and personal. If you have any more questions or are interested in the industry shoot me a message, I'm more than happy to help!

What an act of love to help someone in the end of life, I could NEVER work on that end of things. Hospice nurses and families caring for loved ones at home have my UTMOST respect. I hope you have sought professional help, it has helped me so much with some of those feelings. Thank you for such a sweet response
