How long maintenance: 3 Years 1 month!!!!❤️ But not Oct 2021. ☹️ Partly due to a new scale that weighs higher & partly due to onset of tinnitus & partly depressed due to tinnitus which made everything harder. Managing much better now.

Usually, my weight is very stable - very little fluctuating. This week I was up 1 1/2 lb one day and then down 2 lb the next. I have no idea why. Maybe it is the scale. 😊2 -

Success of the week: Extra relaxation. I took off one day so I could have five off in a row.
Struggle of the week: Scale is "stuck" again. It may be maintenance, but it's not at the level that I would call success.

My DiL is having a tough time with the children so I went up and stayed over a couple of nights, had less exercise and more calories than I had planned. However, weight has stayed just under 50.5 kg all week. So, easily within my maintenance range.
I’m away on holiday for a fortnight later this month so had hoped to be under 50 kg before flying. Not to worry, the holiday will be fairly active.

Success: I got my weight down below 50 kg by the end of last week – ready for my holiday.
Struggles: None related to food or weight. However, I’m not on holiday – long story see below – which is a shame as I think it would have been good for my mental health. However, if the last 2 years of heartache and grief have taught me anything it’s to go forward, look for the positives and not to dwell on the might-have-beens.
Here’s the story should you care to read itWe had a fortnight holiday booked in Lanzarote – in an all-inclusive hotel. However, my boyfriend/partner hates flying and it’s been over two years since we last flew anywhere. We were going abroad 3 or even 4 times a year. He didn’t like it but he did manage to get on the plane. This time he realised that we were probably going to be on a Boeing Max (the plane that had two disastrous accidents a couple of years ago) and it just completely took him out. He was getting more and more anxious, he told me a few weeks ago that he was worried and didn’t know if he could do it.
So yesterday we made the journey to the airport and booked into the hotel. He was in a real state but was torn about the whole issue. This morning we got up early (5 am) had breakfast and walked up to the airport. We got to the front of the check in queue and he couldn’t go though with it.
We then had a tedious long cold wait around the airport to catch a return bus. Finally got home about noon. So, I shall be home now not away on holiday. (I didn’t want to go on my own)0 -

If it were me, I would have kissed him goodbye and got on the plane. He could, if he wanted, rebook on another flight that was with different equipment. Or he could have stayed home and done chores while you relaxed in the islands.0 -
My husband isn't a traveler either. One of the first trips that he said he couldn't go (he has reasons and I can accept that) I decided to go anyway. The first night there, I was at a restaurant that got very full so I invited an older couple to share a table with me. They were residents and told me all about the history of the area. When I told them why I was there alone, the women said she was felt the same way as my husband and her husband said he goes on his own or with his kids. They made me feel so good about my decision. Not only that, they paid for my dinner! Since then, until the Pandemic hit, I have taken a trip on my own every year. By the way, my husband and I have been happily married for 53 years.2

Success: Very successful at staying at my goal weight! I do have ups and downs during the week but on Monday, I am right on target.
Struggle: Missed my Pilates this week. If I end missing one of my video exercises, it is usually Pilates. My abs need those exercises the most but I like them the least.1 -
@mtaratoot and @425Recess, I’m sure you both mean well but you don’t understand all the circumstances.
I have been away on my own in the past but I did not want to be on my own for this holiday because: 1) the particular hotel and resort in Lanzarote is not a wonderful exciting place, the weather is warmer than here in the UK but it’s not exactly tropical and 2) I do not want to spend so much time on my own just 8 months after my son died, I would have had too much time to dwell on stuff.
I was hoping the holiday would be a break and be good for my mental health at this time but going on my own is a very different proposition.
I have asked him to think seriously about the next two holidays we have booked – back to the Canaries in February and Kos in May.

Successes/struggles of the week: Higher than I would've liked, but also not too bad after Thanksgiving. I lost water weight from Monday through Friday (114 down to 111.4), so my weight didn't end up going up after Thanksgiving. Of course, after having sushi yesterday, my weight went back up 2 pounds today. I did pretty well with workouts and steps, including getting about 25.5k steps so far for today.2 -

Success of the week: Extra relaxation. I made it through a very lazy week of vacation without sabotaging my efforts. There was even a holiday in there with plenty of tasty foods; I even made three batches of cornbread for friends and neighbors.
Struggle of the week: With no plans (as intended) it was hard to get motivated to do very much. Then again, sometimes it's really good to just take a week and luff. I haven't done that in ages.

Success: My weight is always higher on Monday's, the day of my official weigh-in. Actually, that is fine. If my weight is below goal, I'll go ahead and eat the extra cookie, etc. Thanksgiving, I was 2 1/2 lb below my goal. I brought home left-over pumpkin pie and had another piece at home. It was good.
