Just stumbled upon this on youtube and thought a few of you might enjoy it. Basically, a 91 year old grandma recreating some of the recipes she cooked as a child during the depression. It gives you an amazing perspective on how things have changed, plus she tells lovely stories along the way.

    I haven't watched the video, but I can only assume since it's depression era, that dirt is a staple ingredient.

    I hold out it's because she didn't technically have arms, so she couldn't use the plunger thing to make them. I forgive her.

    I still can't get over my hubby's grandma making me boil chicken carcasses for the meat and broth. Yetch
