Not seeing what I want...help!

So, in the last 2 weeks I've started weight training. No crazy lifting, just mainly core work and some arms and legs. Since I've started this I just feel so bulky. I feel like I've gained weight, but when I get on the scale not much has changed. My weight usually fluctuates between a pound a two. I'm working really hard to lose my last little bit of belly flat and tighten my core, but since I've started this it seems like the slight abs that I had are going away. Any suggestions?

The first pic is before strength training and the second pic was taken today.

Are you lifting heavy enough and letting your muscles repair themselves? Honestly though you may need ot give it time. 2 weeks is a fairly short amount of time. If we were talking say 6 months, then that might be a different thing, but I wouldn't be so concerned about 2 weeks.

I think you look great, BTW.
  • What weight are you lifting most commonly?

You're probably getting a pump from your workout, which will 100% go away. Maybe thats why you feel like your getting bulky.

Honestly, I don't see much difference between the two. Maybe a slight slimming in the lower waist area. But two weeks is not a lot of time. Changing the shape of your body takes (an annoying amount of) time. Have patience and keep after it - you'll get there.

I can barely see a difference (and wouldn't expect to after two weeks) - maybe slightly slimmer abdomen in the 2nd picture. Don't see any bulkiness though. You're probably just feeling your muscles a bit swollen, that's all.
