frustrated

I was doing this thing all wrong. I thought you ate your calories that you burned with excerise. Now I know not to do that, but I'm losing in the chest and not anywhere else. I'm frustrated. I've been watching the calories carefully and not losing anything. My neck is the same, lost 2 inch in the chest, gained and stayed the same in the hips and stomach. How long does it take before seeing some real big results? Um looking for some support. Walking like crazy. I do have to say though my legs are starting to shape nicely. LOL ok I already am starting to get out of the stinking thinking.

You just have to give it time as you can't beat genetics. You lose last the first place you gain. Unfortunately, you can't spot reduce so just keep pluggin away.

yep, I'm afraid this is true... the parts we worry about the most are where we tend to lose the fat last :(

Persistence is the key. So many people go 'all out' in the first few weeks, don't see miraculous results, and give up. Understand that this will take time, come up with a plan that you can stick to long term without killing yourself with exercise, stay at a moderate caloric decifit, give yourself the occasional 'treat' (but not as a reward for exercise or sticking to your diet) - and just keep at it.

Take some pics too, what might seem like frustratingly slow progress can look very dramatic when you put pics side-by-side.

If you're using MFP to set your weight loss and calorie goals, you ARE supposed to eat your exercise calories. Just make sure that your calorie burns are accurate (with a HRM). Machine readings are unreliable, and websites can only estimate.
As others have said, you can't spot reduce fat or choose where you lose from. You just have to keep on truckin', and it will come off.

Yes, with MFP you are supposed to eat back your calories. Many people choose to eat back only half to account for errors in estimates of calories burned.

Slow weight loss means you're more likely to keep it off long term so keep going and as the two people above me said you ARE supposed to eat back your exercise calories so you were doing it right. MFP already has your deficit included in your calories to eat each day and it's not healthy to make the deficit larger.

You aren't doing it wrong. If MFP set up your goal you ARE supposed to be eating the exercise calories back. Sadly, you can't pick and choose where you'll lose fat. It comes off where it comes off.

This is true but if MFP is estimating exercise calories, than it may be wise to eat a portion of them.
