How to get apple watch steps to convert to calories?

So I have my apple watch synced to mfp for steps. On the homepage of the app, it shows my step count as correct (around 12,000 for today, for example). However, once I go to the diary tab, it says that I have only walked 19 steps at the bottom under the exercise tab, therefore giving me 0 additional calories for my "apple watch calorie adjustment". This didn't use to be an issue (the calories used to be added to my daily allowance), however I'm not sure how to get the two areas to sync again. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!
