Scannable Nutrition Lables

I wish myfitnesspal had a way of scanning a nutrition label and having it import the info into the app.

I'm already a fan of the barcode scanner, but just entirely scanning the nutritional data would help avoid a lot of errors.

The bar code scanner usually picks up all the correct nutritional information.

The bar code scanner usually picks up all the correct nutritional information.

It doesn't really 'pick up' the nutritional info though, it just searches the database (with info that may or may not correspond to what's actually on the label).

Actually scanning the nutritional info on the label would be helpful to avoid wrong database entries. Or it would mean not having to manually create new database entries if the food isn't already in the database. Both cases are quite common for me (not on the US).
