New User with no result

Hello everyone I just joined mfp and I still don't understand it..
Please can someone put me through it?

    Did you plug your stats in and get your daily calorie goal? That's where you start. Once you've got that you get a digital food scale and start weighing and measuring all food and drink. You log it all into your food diary and try to hit your daily calorie goal. Exercise if you can. Read the "Most important posts". They will give you essential information. Good luck.

    You can also go to "Help" at the top of any page for explanations of how it works, and look at the top of each subforum for threads titled, "Most Helpful Posts," for detailed discussions of various topics.

    We are more than happy to help, but need a specific question in order to do so LOL

    A lot of this (as with any website/app) is tinkering around on it until you 'figure it out'.
