A winter celebration (ski pics)

Hi everyone π
I go to the Methow Valley - a small opening in the North Cascades - every year to celebrate another trip around the sun and the coming of winter. π¨οΈπ¨οΈπ¨οΈ βοΈ I got back home a few days ago and thought I should share a few pics.
This is busy downtown Winthrop, we ate at Jack's a few times because didn't have many other choices. π Maybe "ate from" is a better way to put it, we took it back to the hotel like antisocial 2021 people. βΉοΈ
It was a downright frightening drive in. They closed Stevens Pass. It had been raining on the west side and our wiper blades froze. π³ Big chunks of ice. The road was icy for the next 150 miles, so get ready for story time. After driving in through this awful storm, we were treated to bluebird days until our visit was over. First day, Mazama trails! π This one is called Goat Wall.
One of my birthday traditions is skiing to one of the Rendezvous Huts. There are several, they're all hard to reach, with lots of trail junctions along the way which somehow makes it more interesting.
It was -7 degrees F when we left the hotel, -1 at the trailhead. The Hut we skied to was a lot (1,500 feet) of uphill, so probably much colder. I've never been able to ski in down π¦’, it's like wearing a fire π₯, but it was perfect for the trip back to the car. It was 11 miles round trip with the route we choose.
I'm taking a moment to shoot a photo or two. π
Happy New Year, everyone.

My home computer died this spring and I haven't been able to share photos as a result since then. I'm glad to be able to revisit and share memories again. π0
