@ContraryMaryMary it's great having you back! Nice cake, too. What type of frosting is that?

@kgirlhart so sorry about your uncle. I hope you'll stay healthy & be able to go to the funeral.

@shanaber poor Hobbes, I hope he's feeling better.

My plan has the option for either cross training or a rest day today, and I think I'm going to take the rest day.

    Nice running everyone.

@shanaber I am surprised I haven't had real issues before either and also surprised that it wasn't found sooner. I mean, don't they see your spine when doing chest x-rays or something? Anyway, having said that, I have been sitting on a heating pad at night for a couple of years, but thought it was just old age making my back feel tight at night. I never dreamed it was scoliosis or something that needed to be addressed. Where is @Avidkeo ? She hasn't been on here lately, has she?

@Faebert Thanks. Mom and I are okay. Fortunately, we both had a fairly mild case of CoVID. It was probably Omicron, as it doesn't seem to be as serious in most cases. I got out and got a very much needed haircut yesterday. The x-ray was of my back, showing my scoliosis. So, nothing new. You are doing great getting in your runs. I hope you feel better by the weekend and can get in a longer run.

@ContraryMaryMary Happy birthday to your youngest. Love the cake. That is so cute! I'm glad the massage was so helpful, but I'm not sure I would be willing to sit through an hour of torture. I'm such a wimp sometimes.

@kgirlhart Yeah for meeting your goal. You have my sympathies on the death of your uncle and your exposure to CoVID. I hope you avoid it and are able to go to the funeral. One of the things I said when I had it last week was that I hate that any symptom you have can be a symptom of CoVID. Had it been 2 years ago, I wouldn't have thought anything about my symptoms and would have just gone on with my daily life - mostly had a fever for one day and felt tired, but I would have written that off to being lazy or not sleeping well. It's a strange time we are living in. Anyway, like I said, I hope you don't have it.

Welcome back @BeverlyW1108 . Glad you are feeling better.

For the ladies, one of my favorite running bras is the Handful Y-back. I just purchased a second one. I received a coupon to share with "a friend," so don't know if it will work for more than one person or not. Anyway, if you are looking for a new bra and would like to try them out, here is a 15% off coupon. https://loox.io/z/NkPXlhias

Well I am not keeping up well with the thread dangit but I am remembering to list my runs in challenge hound. I love the way the scale on the graph has to change because of one person (I will not name but whose ribs I hope are feeling better)

I am at 106 miles for the month and expect I may make the 120 total I listed.

Still waiting for our dictionary to be listed in next months opener for the challenge... ;)

Best way to make that happen is to be the mother of the February 2022 Monthly Running Challenge.

@quilteryoyo that is a heck of an xray
@ContraryMaryMary welcome back, sorry the ankle isn't happy
@AlphaHowls hope the rib/muscle is better soon. I an attest to how awful ribs are, broke 4 a few years back. Getting in and out of bed was horrible.
@Shanaber sorry to hear about poor Hobbs.

@quilteryoyo don't stress about your lack of wanting to do anything today. It's a place I find myself in often. I found out the world doesn't actually stop during that time. So just let it run it's course and pick up again tomorrow.

Just did a sleasy 6 miles on the treadmill this evening.

Today I got out and ran 5 miles. It was still cold, but not as cold as yesterday. It was an uneventful run, but I felt good and enjoyed it.

    1/28 – 5.12 miles
    January Total – 99.54 miles

I ran 5.04 miles at lunch yesterday. I was hoping to get another run in after work but other obligations presented themselves. I got out early this morning for another 5.12 miles and I think our word “slugly” best described today’s run. I didn’t quit though so there is that. If the precipitation holds off, I plan on channeling my inner @SummerSkier and doing another run at lunch. It’s supposed to snow this afternoon and be really cold tomorrow.

@kgirlhart – I’m glad you are still feeling healthy and I’m sorry for the loss of your uncle.
@SummerSkier - Your Hai Hai reminds me of my Millie Mollie.

She fell asleep on my legs while watching a bird video.
@Shanaber – So scary about Hobbes getting poisoned. I hope he is back to himself.
Beautiful cake porn @ContraryMaryMary. Happy Birthday to your little one!
Way to meet and exceed your pace @martaindale! Never heard of RunSmart. I have some strength training workouts on a dvd from Runners World led by Dr. Jordan Metzel, a sports medicine physician in NYC. He is a runner and triathlete. Pretty tough workouts that are designed to strengthen muscles that runners use.
@quilteryoyo – We all need those nothing days every now and then. Don’t forget you’re still recovering from that virus.
