Any 30 Day Shred Tips?

My husband and I are taking a trip to Mexico in October. I've been counting calories through MFP recently with weight loss success. I've recently started the 30 Day Shred. I'm hoping to see noticeable results by October--we leave on the 11th.

Anyone have 30DS tips for good success? Anything I'm not already doing? I'm about 5'4, 146.lbs. Working out twice a day. Eating between 1200-1300 calories a day.

I, too, did that workout before our vacation this summer. I started May 31st and we left for vacation on July 7th. My starting weight was 153.8 and I was eating 1200 calories a day plus about half of my workout calories back. I had lost 12 pounds by the day we left for vacation. I felt soooo good about the changes I was already seeing. My clothes were fitting looser, my legs/butt were not as jiggly and my waist, thighs & hips were smaller. 30DS is a great workout! Stick with it, give yourself at least 1 day of rest each week. I did not finish the workout in 30 days, it took me about 7 weeks to finish (I did do it on vacation a few days.) The more often you do it before your vacation, the greater the results you'll likely see. Tips:

    - Stick with your diet, the calorie deficit that MFP creates is the major reason I lost weight (30DS only burns about 220 calories), but the workout is the reason my body looked so much better for only 12 lbs lost.

    - I didn't know how to log 30DS as exercise. Someone told me to log it as general strength training, so that's what I did.

    - Try your best to follow their "advanced" example on the workout (Natalie). If I couldn't do her workout when I started the Level, I did the easier version the first 5 days but then switched on Days 6-10 to follow the advanced version.

Good luck on your fitness journey and have a great vacation!

P.S. I don't know that you'd need to do this workout twice a day, but if you do, please eat at least half of your exercise calories back or you won't have enough energy to follow through until vacation :o)

There are many groups doing 30DS ... joining one can often help you with your motivation keeping up. When I did it, our group planned on 6-weeks (instead of doing the whole thing in 30days) ... basically Mon-Fri with weekend off (or weekends available to make up a missed day during the week). I thought that this plan really helped, just gave me a little flexibility.

IF you have some extra time, I would suggest trying to watch the level before actually doing the level ... sometimes it's hard to see the move as you are on the ground trying to DO the move. And there were times when the camera would pan to the "easy" version, so even if you were willing to try the harder version, you didn't know what it was right away. If you do go ahead and do the workout the first time you are watching, just know it will get easier. Don't give up, keep coming back.

I did also add my own cardio in addition to the workout. I didn't see any miraculous changes, but felt better and thought my arms were a little more toned. I did lose several pounds (but I was watching calories and doing extra exercise, so it wasn't all this program) ... but that said, I would definitely recommend doing it. I love that it's so easily accessible and inexpensive. I wouldn't mind giving some of these other ones a try, but they are all $100+

I did a post about 30DS on my blog ... I wrote up all the exercises on each level if you wanted to take a peek

... oh, one other hint is to take measurements and photos before to compare to after. I took shorts/bra shots ... and then I wasn't comfortable sharing those publicly (I figured it would help me see any changes the best) ... but if you want to think about sharing pictures, be sure to take ones you feel you CAN share *Ü*
