What if I reach my goal and stop working out

Probably a dumb question but, I recently lost 45Lbs and my butt is now non existent lol. I’m now 10 lbs away from my goal and want to focus on building my glutes. If I start lifting and build muscle and then when I’m satisfied with my body I stop lifting, will I maintain the muscle or lose it?

You will lose muscle if you don't use it, your body adjusts to the demands you put on it.
Your muscles aren't permanent, they are constantly being broken down and built up. Taking away the stimulus of exercise tilts the balance towards muscle atrophy.
e.g. I couldn't weight bear on one leg for 3 months due to injury and lost five inches of quad circumference.
But the volume of exercise needed to maintain existing muscle is a lot lower than needed to build it.
As an added incentive when studies look at the factors common to people who successfully maintain their weight loss long term keeping up an active lifestyle and a regular exercise routine is very significant.7 -
sijomial is correct, listen to his wisdom. The only way to get a low-maintenance booty is to get a fake one.1
