Is it just me or do you all also tend to eat more during the winter?

I find I tend to eat some different foods in the winter, or at least different amounts - less salads for example.
and some reduced activity - when it is too dark and cold after work to take the dog for a walk, for example.

I don't know that I really eat more, but winter foods in my home tend to be heavier...stews and casseroles and whatnot whereas in summer we're mostly grilling, eating salads, and lot of fruits and fresh veg. I'm also a lot more active just in general in the warmer months...deliberate exercise aside, I'm just a lot more generally active doing this and that in the warmer months and tend to "hibernate" and watch a lot more t.v. and such in the winter.

I eat less in winter as my cycling volume drops significantly with the short and cold days plus my outdoor activity reduces so my food allowance drops from "lots" to "quite a lot".

I also usually cut some claories to lose a few pounds of weight in January and February to go into the cycling season in the lower part of my weight range.

What I desire / what I eat in winter is quite different. Cold and dark days means I want more hearty foods.

I feel like I have the impulse to eat more starting in the Fall, as the day-length shortens and it gets colder. If I want to, I can control that impulse. (For me, that's a benefit of continuing calorie counting: I know where things stand.) I don't always want to control the impulse.

The mid-Winter holidays can also add a different kind of challenge. Again, I can control it if I want to.

After a few years in maintenance, I know that I can creep up a little in Winter (as long as I don't let it get way out of hand), and things will tend to creep down again in Spring (maybe with a bit of conscious attention added), because I'll be out and about more outdoors. (I live in a cold climate.)

    YMMV.

Nope, if anything, I eat fewer calories because I make a lot more soups.

How do you find you are eating more? Larger meals? Less nutrient dense foods? More snacking?

I love food and eat about the same through the year. I love all seasonal foods. But I think in the winter, putting on weight feels instinctual for some people! It's cold out there! ⛷️
