Does anyone get HelloFresh sub to keep in controll of calories for evening meal?
Been having 2 x choc weetabix and milk for bfast (240cal)
Soup for lunch - lentil and bacon (254cal)
then a hello fresh meal (500-700)
with snacks inbetween like fruit pink lady apples (71cal), alpen light bars (67cal)
If you are doing hellofresh, what have been your best meals?
This week we've had:-
Cheddar Cheeseburger with Wedges and Spring Onion Slaw - the burgers were delicious, but the wedges (as expected) were disappointing, the slaw was also disappointing as was expecting more flavour but alas it was just veggies and mayo.
Porky Pappardelle with Spinach and Cheese - This was really nice, was like a fancy bolognese, but the pork didnt make it taste like a traditional bolognese would be.
Hoisin Beef with Bok Choy, Green Beans and Fluffy Rice - not yet tried this (tonights evening meal)
Aromatic Beef Pilaf with Tomatoes, Green Beans and Mango Chutney - smelled amazing when cooking, but was lacking in flavour when eating. I love mango, but the chutney was too overpowering.
Speedy Pork and Mushroom Stir-Fry with Chinese Leaf and Zesty Rice - cooking it, it smelled really super sickly sweet, but woah was this amazing!
Kinda disappointed that they only do 5 days not 7. So still have to shop for the other 2 days. We only got this to try as its was on offer. I dont think we'd ever pay full price for it.

Do you find the calories, fat, and sodium a bit high?1

We just had the chipotle beef chilli tonight. It was awesome! It’s our 6th meal and they have all been pretty good.0

How good or bad they are really depends on the country. I had tried them several times before with nearly free packages as it's great when you just moved and want fresh-cooked food. In the UK (ok, but not great), in the Netherlands (ok, but not great), in Germany (total *kitten*). I'd chosen dishes with around 800kcal per portion and eaten 3x of it. Hey, i'm that cheap. Few things I noticed: the quality of meat in all countries was really, really bad. Like: water injected into meat and ending up with a pan full of water kind of bad. I also found that you really need to count the calories still. But here it always was the other way around. The 800 calorie dish would suddenly turn into a 600 calorie or less dish when using less cooking oil and butter. There goes the plan of having food for 3 days.0
