Exercise and weight loss

Hi everyone I have been hitting the gym consistently this week....I go about 5-6 times a week. However since I have started I have felt hungrier and lost 0 lbs on the scale. I have increased my calories from 1350 to 1600 as otherwise it is feeling like i cannot function through out the day. I have a goal of losing 8 lbs in February but at this point i have not moved even 1 lb this whole week and just felt more tired. Could someone please help? What am I doing wrong? I have just started IF to see if that makes a difference.

If the exercise is new, you are most likely holding on to extra water weight for muscle repair, which is masking fat loss on the scale.
You need more than one week of data to know if you need to adjust your calories, which weight fluctuates for many reasons besides fat loss/gain.
How much do you have to lose? A goal of 8 lbs per month sounds very aggressive, unless you have a lot to lose in total.2
