I went from 250 to 185 on my own. I have slipped emotional eating is my down fall I am back to 202 being 200 plus is killing my joints. I play softball and I feel slower, I am mad at myself. I’m hoping this app helps me be accountable, just need to control the stress eating and the street cravings

I am also an emotional eater. I believe that finding better options for when you “fall off the wagon” can help. For instance, hormones or emotions could cause me to eat a cupcake and a cup of hot chocolate. Just last night in my MFP feed an article appeared about how to make a different kind of hot chocolate from scratch with different possibilities that started with a couple tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa.
I heated about a 1/4 cup of water and then added the tablespoons of cocoa (or cacao) and a bit of erithrtol and let it all dissolve and blend together. Then added 1/2 cup Silk Coconut milk and 1/4 cup Vanilla Silk. It came to around 60 calories instead of 160 if I used mix or packets. Then I also had 2 Hershey’s Kisses ( not the 7 it claims is a serving) and with the extra calories I also had my 6 Tricuits with a piece of cheese AND some fruit. I ended up feeling like I had just eaten a plate of nachos with a cup of hot chocolate and part of a candy bar…. But my calories were a third of that kind of sadness binge.
So I will keep finding tasty low calorie options and hacks to get me through until my health is improved enough that I’m not sad quite so often and then I will still have my arsenal of cheap calorie treats. I learned on Atkins a decade ago that a diet A&W with a tablespoon of cream or whipped cream was very close to a root beer float. The A&W zero sugar is even sweeter. These are not “healthy” choices but neither is half a pizza and a Blizzard. I wonder if there is a thread here where everyone shares some easy low calorie “treats” that aren’t an intricate recipe.
I am sharing because when I was in my 30’s and had my daughter I gained a lot and had finally gotten things under control and after some traumatic events in my 40’s emotionally ate to my highest weight and then added another 60 lbs. I’m crawling out of the darkness with a water with lemon in one hand and water with an I love Lemon tea bag in the other. Taking my vitamins to reduce the cravings for unknown things my body is missing. You sound like you have extraordinary willpower on your good days. Some substitute binge items might be just what you need. Pretzels with a tbsp of peanut to dip them (or apple or celery w peanut butter) is good too.0
