I use the recipe builder all the time. If you have an online recipe, you can import it and it will match the ingredients for you. You do have to check sometimes the matches can be wonky. If not you do have to put items in one at a time. The nice thing is you do it once and you will have it every time you make it, ready to log.

Yea, you have to build your own recipe for Shepard's pie. the range is too great to just pull someone else's off the database (which is usually wrong anyway).

Put in the ingredients one at a time. For a traditional recipe you have the problem of how to score the lamb. Tradition recipe, one takes the left overs from the leg of lamb and uses those. Cooked or raw, ground or not, lean or not? Drippings if you use ground meat. A lot of issues. And, the mashed potatoes are ok, but for G's sake don't use a pie crust or cream or you will be looking at 900 calories per small serving. Lot's of vegetables is the only way to make this a "reasonable" comfort meal.

Edit; Oh, by the way, I challenge anyone to make a better mashed potato than you can buy in a tub from Bob Evans. We actually did a challenge over 10 years on T Day by having someone bring their own to compare each year. Bob won every year. So don't waste time with making your own. spend that time on logging the calorie count.
