Now or Never. Need motivation

Approaching a big birthday number & don’t want to feel sluggish over weight but alive and energetic. Have never been sporty but used to be slim and strong. Hoping for inspiration from you all.

Hello, and welcome to the MFP Community!

I have quite a few big birthdays in my rear view mirror, and I hope quite a few more still on the road ahead. At age 59-60, MFP helped me lose to a healthy weight (from class 1 obese), and I'm still here 6+ years later maintaining at a healthy weight, now age 66. This stuff can work! 🙂

Have you settled on a plan or approach for pursuing your "slim and strong" goal? There are lots of options, and which ones are best is a matter of finding what's most workable for you. Personally, I think tailoring our methods to our individual preferences, strengths, and limitations is a key success factor.

    Wishing you much success!

I just hit my milestone 60th birthday! I lost nearly 40 lbs here several years ago and kept it off for 8 years. Sadly, I managed to pile it all back on over the last 2 years. I am in dire need of getting fit again. I'd be delighted to be your pal here if you'd like.
