I've been exercising for the last 20 years and have used MFP for some time now. I love the calorie counter. I thought it would be a positive step to collaborate experiences, thoughts, and ideas with others who are engaging in healthy living practices in the same way I have over the years. In other words, discussions here may be more productive than the random people I come in contact with, who are probably less interested in my diet strategies and workout routines. So this is day one for me as a member of the community. I'm hoping to meet new people, share my experiences, and learn from others.

I've found the Community to be helpful and supportive in just the way you describe - don't be afraid to jump in and comment on threads, join in challenges, or anything like that that appeals to you. That's a great way to engage with like-minded others, give and get ideas, etc.
Like you, I've been actively exercising for around 20 years, but active in both base MFP and the Community forums since 2015, when I joined and lost 50+ pounds. Now hanging around here to help myself maintain a healthy weight and my pre-existing exercise activities long term.
