I often see folks here talking about how they weigh daily.

Just happens to be that I decided to weigh myself today, and boy was I surprised! After taking a shower and "prepping for life" I weighed in at 235.4. First thing that comes to mind is... what? 2+ pounds in two days!

So, got on with my day, thinking... well, guess no lunch for you. (I kid, I had my lunch.) Did some work (desk job) and went about my day. Drinking water, using the restroom, being a desk jockey.

Weighed myself right before I took a break for lunch. 231.8.

Just keep it in mind that during the day your weight can fluctuate, and that there really can be several factors behind that number you see on the scale. Just think about that before you choose to beat yourself up, if you're prone to that.

NOTE: Before it's asked, this is a freshly calibrated scale. It's accurate. :)

I've only just started but I'm so happy to see a post like this! -- weighing yourself every day can be pretty bad for you D: you should aim to way yourself at the same time when you do it.

good post. it is easy to get sucked in by the numbers. scales should be tools used to assess our weight generally, not throw us into a panic through normal fluctuations.

and normal fluctuations happen. It's just how we are. Like it's said, pick a time per week, and weigh yourself the same way every time.

I weigh every day, using weightgrapher.com to calculate a moving average, and man! This new schedule with school starting up means I'm weighing a good 4 hours before I used to, and it appears like I've gained when I know I haven't. Incredible what a difference 4 hours make.
