Yupik Brown Lentils Nutrition Facts General Question

So I just went to log in my dry brown lentils and the serving size on myfitnesspal and the nutrition label was way off. The label says 1/4 dry and on here it says 0.8 cups. So when I do 4 servings it says 3 cups or something.

The macros are correct but the serving size is off. My real question is, is there actually a non error reason for this? Like do these have more calories when cooked or something?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure the listing you are looking at is for dry lentils not cooked. Sometimes it can be hard to tell. When I tried to look up Yupik dry lentils, I got several foods and some of them were clearly showing the cooked serving size.

The database is crowd-sourced. The entries were created by users like yourself. They either made a mistake or had some other reason for entering the way it's entered.

Like paints5555 said, look for a correct one OR you can enter a new entry yourself into the database or edit one already in there. If you enter it yourself, it becomes one of your personal MY FOODS and you'll know it's correct and be able to use that one in the future.

Some people have *reasons* for changing things from the labels, but no, beans don't have more calories when cooked HOWEVER they do weigh a lot more once they're cooked and have absorbed all the water. I find raw dry beans weigh 35g raw and anywhere from 70-90g cooked. All water, no calories.
