Want to Lose (gulp) 100 lbs.

Hi Friends,
I am new here and diving in. My first step, just writing down the things I am eating and getting clear on the calories was very eye opening. A little about me...I have 7 children and 9 grandies. My four younger children are all teens and I have been homeschooling the past couple years due to the pandemic. I love sweets and that is my downfall as well as falling into the trap of "grazing" all day long. I am going to begin by shooting for the 80/20 rule as well as not eating after 7pm. I will modify those later but I think that is a good beginning point. It's going to be very challenging but healthier and good for me as well as my whole family. I started lifting weights last week so I plan on keeping that part of my routine as well. I wish you all the best and I am looking forward to connecting with others and sharing encouraging words! My first short term goal is to lose 2 lbs /week. My starting weight today is 224 lbs. (yes, I am going to be vulnerable and honest here which helps that we don't really know each other ;o) If I am able to reach my first goal, 2 lbs/week, I will be able to celebrate my 39th wedding anniversary in May 22 lbs lighter! Here's to us all!

    Best of luck with your weight loss/heathy living journey Mary! Sounds like you've got a big family to help keep you active and I'm sure the Grandies will love having a healthier you to chase them around. If you want somewhere with people at the same stage of their journey there's a group called "Lets Lose100+!" which does a monthly challenge so you've got people going through the same things to help you keep on track.
