fitbit way too many calories when i leave spinning exercise mode on

i can leave in it on for an hour not exercising and it quickly adds 300 calories on my calories burned

    Why would you leave it on spinning exercise mode when you're not spinning? You're telling it that you're doing something you're not doing. These devices work on algorithms and you're telling your device to work with the spinning algorithm when you're not spinning.

    That means it was in HR-based calculation mode for calories.

    That is not valid outside the steady-state (same HR) aerobic exercise mode it's valid for.

    Anaerobic exercise and daily living, both outside that range, are inflated when using the calculations.

    In other words - don't do that.

    Also - since spinning classes are rarely steady-state - that's inflated estimates of calorie burn too.
