Question - 50 days

If I have 50 days to lose weight before an event, how much weight could possibly lose if I stay on track with 1,200 calories and daily activity? Just a estimate.

Totally depends on what weight you are starting at. What is your current height and weight?

Healthy weight loss typically averages between a half pound a week to 2 pounds a week depending on starting weight and goal weight.

Estimates are best based on data.
Assuming you are currently 600lbs and 6'6" you could lose a lot in 7 weeks......

You could stick your stats in a TDEE calculator to get an decent idea of your weight maintenance needs, work out the difference between 1200 and that number over 50 days, divide by 3500.

I think the guideline of no more than 2 lbs per week is a good one. Possibly an additional 2 - 5 lbs of water weight loss in the first two weeks, depending on what sort of diet you are switching from. so 14 - 19 lbs -- And that is if you are really working at it.

I think the best you could do without the wheels falling off is a deficit of 500 cals a day from whatever maintenance level you have, assuming you're maybe 180lb or 190lb right now??? That's 500 x 50 days = 25,000 calories deficit, @ 3,500 per lb that's 7.14lb.

at a guess. But if you were starting at 130 or 120lb, then no. The thinner you are, the less weight you can reduce.

Do we win a prize if we're the closest to what you end up doing? :)

My guess would be 10# the first week, followed by 1-1.5 # each week after. That's only a guess from my past experience when I had to lose 50-75#. Now I'm excited when the scale drops .5 # a week.

If the photo is recent, you are 240 and at 5'6" you can lose about 20 pounds.
