Good morning all!
Just joined here and still need to get used to this. I’m also on another 52 week program called rally coach but app is soo lacking compared to Fitness Pal.
Anyway. My name is Erjon, 37, 5’9. I’m single, living by myself, a marine and soldier vet. I’m currently 206 and my goal is 175.
Back in 2019 I got divorced standing at 210lbs and used gym and running as a therapy and reached the goal by myself 175 lbs, 16% body fat.
However, depression hit all time high with Covid, not getting closure by my failure in my marriage, getting a DUI, hurting my shoulder, making horrible food choices and my weight degrading to 206 and 30% body fat.
I have the determination, and motivation is slowly but steady coming up. I see the need to have a network of like minded individuals and the need for a nutritionist/dietary coach. I think I’m in the right mindset and path however I’m hitting a brick wall. I’m topping 1000 active cals between morning running routine and evening strength exercises. Still lacking knowledge of food. I have a sitting job from home which probably is not helping. So I’ll appreciate any help here 🥺

The most important thing is to get your daily calorie goal. Then get a digital food scale and start weighing and measuring all food and drink. I say important because if you're exercising a lot you'll need to fuel those workouts and have the right deficit. You're looking at a 30 lb loss which is not huge so how many calories you eat will get you to goal. Once you get your calorie goal and logging down, you can then ask advice on macros.
Good luck.2 -
Appreciate your feedback. My dilemma is I don’t know the difference between calorie I eat vs calorie I should be eating.
Basically I’m like a kid opening my eyes. Where do I start?

When you joined MFP they ask you your stats and how much weight you want to lose a week, or if you want to gain, or if you want to maintain, and then they give you a daily calorie goal. For more information you can read the stickie pots, or the posts voted most useful. These are chock full of useful information and often asked questions.2
