My daily goal is 1200 calorie as per MFP. Is it the net calorie intake to reduce the desired wt? Should I maintain 1200 (w/o reducing burned calories)?
How does this work?
P.S. I am new to this :)

You get to eat back your exercise calories. Just try to pick reasonable estimates so that you don't go over.

MFP is set up for to eat back your exercise calories. So, I'd say start with eating them and then see where to go from there.

Eat the 1200. When you exercise, enter that into the "Exercise" tab. It will give you XXX number of calories more to fuel that exercise. Eat that too.

    Here's the explanation:

MFP actually calculates your weight maintenance calories (for a day with no exercise).
You only got 1200 (plus exercise) because you told it you wanted to lose weight in your goal set up.

If you pick a rapid rate of weight loss (what rate did you select?) the chances of hitting the minimum 1200 are far higher but remember fast weight loss is not suitable for everyone.
