eating for toning my body

i exercise a lot but i can’t seem to tone my body well or make myself lean like other gym goers. what should i be eating?

    Not enough information. Are you overweight? Undermuscled? And what does 'tone' mean for you? Generally, in order for muscles to show you need to lose the fat covering it (eating less) and building muscles (progressive muscle building training).

    If you are overweight then eat less - calorie deficit to lose weight.

    If you are a good weight but not as lean as you would like then train to gain muscle while eating at or around maintenance level.

    You really need to set the scene to get targetted advice. Only you know your current situation, what your exercise actually is, what these other gym goers look like (your goal physique?).
