I have a problem with gaining weight. I started on 9th March, I take 2210 calories per day. Yesterday I had 600grams more than today. Is it normal to eat so much for 20 days ( I’m not exercising) and to lose 0.6kilos in one day? That happened twice in 20 days.

Completely normal. Overnight major-ish weight jumps/drops are water weight shifts (or changes in digestive contents that will become waste in a day or two), not fat. They're part of how healthy bodies stay healthy. Yes, it can be surprising, but it's totally normal. For bodyweight management, what really matters is the trend over multiple weeks. Some odd thing that happens one day along the way is a distraction, not important.

Over the long-term is your goal to gain or is your goal to lose weight?

From the context it sounds to me that you're aiming to gain weight and that you are surprised that on several occasions you have lost weight even though you're eating 2210 calories a day on average.

How's your react to this depends in part of where you're starting from and why you're trying to gain weight.

If you're officially classified as underweight and you're aiming for predictable weight gain at a speed of a pound per week or faster, the correct reaction would be to increase your calories beyond the 2210 until you're showing relatively predictable weight gain.

If you're classified as normal weight and your primarily eating at maintenance and trying to supply enough extra energy to build up muscle, in other words if you're aiming for a very small surplus in the 250 calorie per day range, then you can afford to look at your performance over a longer time period and might want to either not bump up your calories yet or bump them up by only a little bit.

The amount you might bump up by also depend on how active you are. If I were trying for weight gain I would probably be eating all of my exercise calories for example unless my weigh change over time clearly indicated that I was overdoing things

I'm curious about the bolded. Some people don't consider activity exercise unless it has very narrowly defined criteria, such as taking place in a gym. My mother hasn't been to a gym since 2020 but has difficulty staying above Underweight as she is so active, which today included housework, cooking, cleaning the barn, raking leaves, and other yard work.

Also, is your activity level for your job set correctly?
