I'm in the same situation as you and you're not going to like what I say: If you're serious about your weight loss, you're gonna have to stop going out as much and use that money to buy decent food instead.
I know it sucks but that's what it's going to take.
However, I buy most of my food from musclefood.com - The prices are high, because you're buying in bulk but the food is good, and it'll last you forever. Check this out: http://www.musclefood.com/superleanstack/0 -

bulk buy things like frozen veg & frozen chicken breasts, or have a look in the reduced bit in supermarkets at the end of the day, you can get some good deals.
and just make sure you do a crap load of exercise to make up for all the booze!! :drinker:0 -

This. Also check out multi-buy options on the supermarkets website. Sainsburys at the moment do a 3 packs of meat for £10 deal. If you are just feeding yourself, a pack of meat can last 2 - 4 meals depending on what you make. Check out voucher codes too on google - at least one supermarket has a '£15 off your first online shop' going on every month.
Things like lentils are cheap, healthy, fill you up and last forever too. Canned veg is also cheap and it lasts forever - buy the stuff in just plain water to cut down on your sodium. Buy things on 2 for 1 deals and freeze what you don't need.
I've only recently just started cutting down on my food shop - I used to go to the supermarket and just chuck in things and walk out with a £100 shop every week. Now I've bought a chest freezer and I bulk buy all my meats and cans, etc, I've managed to actually halve my food bill - about £200 a month to feed two people. Which some would still say is extravagant!0 -
This is the best stuff to buy
1) boxes of oats
2) Plenty of frozen chicken breasts
3)Plenty of frozen veggies
4) Those huge bags of brown rice
5) Those egg trays that hold around 50 eggs (triple deckers FTW)
Those are the mandatories spend the rest of the cash on cerials , bars , rice cakes , ice cream tubs etc..0 -
Something to watch out for when shopping is to check the price per kilo or per 100g, whatever is listed on the shelf edge/packet description.
Quite often the biggest and supposedly best value packets are not always the cheapest........Always go by the price by weight not the flashy promotion ticket.0
