Yes, it's me again =0) I was just wondering if any one has been using the

Walk Away The Pounds With Leslie Sansone DVD's

Have you lost any weight using them, and are they worth the money to buy ?

I always worry about work out DVD's because I live in the upstairs of an apt.. and I don't
want to be making a lot of noise.

May have my neighbors wondering what the heck is going on up here LoL:laugh:

I've lost 41 lbs using only the Walk away the pounds dvd's for workouts. I have lots of them and rotate them so I don't get bored.
I don't know about the noise they would create in in upstairs apartment though. But most of them probably wouldn't be that bad. Some of the ones with the boosted walking (light jogging) might make a little more noise?

Great weight loss you've got there!

And WOW! your pictures are great! You look wonderful.
  • Thank's I was just thinking about winter.

I know it is summer, but we start to get our snow by Halloween!!
We get many feet of snow.. Northern Maine where I am.
So my hubby was asking me if I wanted to invest in maybe a used treadmill.
but I thought the DVD might be just as good? with a lower price tag!!
  • Congrats on your weight loss! I've wondered about those too. Not because of the noise though. Since the poster after you gave them a good "review" I'll check them out.

I recently bought a 5mile walk at home Leslie video from a fb friend for $5. I just started it this past Tuesday and so far I've completed a total of 84min. At first, I thought...'yea right, this is it?!' Because it seems ridiculously easy, but it still got me sweating!!

I like the way her DVDs are set up so that you can use all or part of the workout. So if you've only got time for 1 mile (+ warm up & cool down), it works. Or ramp it up & do more if that's what you want. And each mile is different in what she has you doing. I think that a treadmill will make as much noise for the downstairs neighbors as just working out, too.

I LOVE Leslie Sansone videos and have loads of them! There are even some you can watch online to get an idea of what she does.

Here are some videos from youtube:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2XWRZcvAZys&feature=PlayList&p=3276123ADD7730EE&playnext_from=PL

These 3 equal her 2 mile Walk Away the Pounds for Abs.

    Also:

These 2 are 1 mile each. You can create a playlist if you have an account and then you can play them all consecutively. (I have also recently discovered that I can put them on my RealPlayer (free download) and not download the commercials! This is a much smoother transition even than as a youtube playlist.)

And finally, here's a link to her 1, 2, and 3 mile Start Walking workouts:

All these links can be watched and done on line.

I've lost 16 lbs so far...and the dvds take up a lot less room than a treadmill!

Just like anything else, it's all about what you put into it, but I find that I pop one in even if I don't feel like it--I tell myself that I can do it slow if I need, and before I know it, she has me sweating! 5 miles this morning...I need to do a few more this evening to balance out a wonderful, yet calorie-laden meal from noodles and company today. Before I started MFP, I used her eating plan too to get me on the right track. Worth it. :-)
  • Congrats on your success and willingness to continue. I use the tredmill. I like knowing how many calories I have burned and contolling how fast I want to go. You don't need to spend a lot of money on them. I have always used the cheap one from Wal-mart. I paid $200 for a new one (here in Texas). I used the same tredmill 12 years ago when I was pregnant with my son until it gave out. I just purchased this one about three years ago and still works like new. My daughter gets on it too. Hope this helps. Good luck.

I love her videos. You won't make anymore noise than just walking around your living room. Seriously, all it is is walking in place briskly. She keeps you entertained though and it always goes by so quickly. I have a heart rate monitor, so I know I burn lots of calories! It's so much better than walking outside in the heat. The only thing I wish she did was give you a schedule of when to do the videos. I'm trying to come up with a plan now.
  • Thank you all, I can not wait to get the videos!! Looks like some thing for me =0)
  • I started my journey of exercise for fitness with her one mile VHS tape then others and bought the clothes. I still use the shirt - my fat thighs wore out the pants!
My exercises were in a house and Deaf family members so there is no way for me to tell how people in the same house will react to you. Before Hallowe'en if you find out their sleep patterns and exercise at other times, perhaps you will be an encouragement them, too.

I adore Leslie Sansone, and let me tell ya, her workouts do work up a good burn!!! I did five miles with her today (a one mile, and a four mile) for a total of about an hour and a half and my heart rate monitor tells me that's about 900 calories burned. And I feel GREAT!

As to the noise level, I think it depends on if you're going to workout on carpet or not. If not, it might be a bit noisy. BUT I will say that my downstairs neighbor has a treadmill and trust me, I know her workout schedule!!! I haven't used mine in years for just that reason - it's noisy! Thankfully I bought it used so I didn't pay much, but Leslie has gotten me in far better shape over the years than a treadmill ever did - or could. Leslie modifies her walks so you use way more muscles than you do on a treadmill. She gets soooo many muscles involved, but it's still very simple. I really can't say enough good things about Leslie. :D

I have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. It is hard for me to exercise because of the pain and if I do too much I am in bed for days or my body shuts down. I have been swimming and walking a little bit trying to build up to more. Do you think Leslies workouts would be simple enough for me to do if I started out slow doing maybe 1 mile at first?

I think you could do them--start slow and modify anything that doesn't feel good. There are days when I don't do much of the arm exercises because of my shoulders--I think I still get a good workout in!

I just 'emailed' myself all the links shown on this thread - excited to try some of them tonight via my laptop!! Need a change and I love walking but it's getting mighty cold out there now (Ontario, Canada in mid November is NOT walking friendly lol).
