Who is planning some modified indulgence on Mother's Day?

I've been recently diagnosed with diabetes and (not recently) high cholesterol. I've done well over the past couple of months, but am hungry for bacon. Voila.... for Mother's Day, my hubby and I will have a Cobb Salad to satiate that hunger for salad and bacon, together.

My husband is making me a Mother's day meal tonight. I am calculating calories as best as I can and not worrying about the rest. Tomorrow we are likely having pizza at my husband's parents house so I will likely take one slice and a large side salad. All we can do is the best we can. Monday I will get right back on track. I have high cholesterol also and I'm trying to get that down in 5 months (my next doctor's appointment). Your salad sounds so good! Enjoy it! Happy Mothers day!3

Happy Mother’s Day! I’m going to a winery here in Oregon to taste some latest releases and champagne. They are serving caviar. We are bringing cream cheese, smoked salmon and crackers. I have the same issues as you. I’ll exercise before we go and enjoy myself!2

What we do on the majority of our days is much, much more important than what we do on one rare day. Enjoy your mothers day!
Me, I'm not a mother, no longer have a mother, etc. - I don't plan a celebration . . . on that day. Other days, for other reasons, a few times a year? Sure, you betcha.5 -
Oooh your salad sounds really good. Indulge with no guilt because tomorrow's another day. Life is made to celebrate the specialness of it!! Now if everyday were a celebration then we'd have to find different ways to celebrate it.
No special food here for me but that's okay. Gone are the days when I get breakfast in bed or lunch made or dinner out. Not sure if I'm happy or sad about that. Maybe it'd just be the thought that'd count? IDK.
Hmmm, heading to get groceries this morning so just might see if that Ben and Jerry's pint jumps into my basket.4 -

Sounds delicious! My kids booked a curry house for mother's day - it was delicious, and I ate a gigantic chicken jalfrezi with garlic naan. No idea what the calories were (2000? ) but there was a load of chicken in it, so met my protein goal for the day, if nothing else!2
